The UK has a long-established Nepali community, including Gurkha families, students, nurses and care workers. Whether you have lived there for years or just arrived, you can talk to me online in Nepali or English.
What Nepalis in the UK often tell me about
- Long shifts in care work, nursing or hospitality
- Study pressure and part-time work for students
- Worry about visas, sponsorship and settling
- High living costs and sending money home
- Caring for older parents, in the UK or back in Nepal
- Cultural gaps between generations in the family
- Loneliness, low mood, anxiety or panic
Time difference
The UK is behind Nepal. The gap changes with British summer time.
- From late October to late March: 5 hours 45 minutes behind
- From late March to late October: 4 hours 45 minutes behind
A morning session in the UK is afternoon in Kathmandu, and an early evening UK session is late evening in Nepal.
About medicines if you live in the UK
- UK pharmacies need a prescription from a UK-registered prescriber. Your GP is usually the best person to prescribe, and I can write to them with my assessment and advice.
- You can usually bring a personal supply of prescribed medicine with a prescription or letter. Some controlled medicines need a licence if you bring more than 3 months’ supply.
- Please do not carry or post medicines across borders without checking the rules first. If you need medicine, I can write a clear letter with my assessment and advice for a local doctor, who can then prescribe for you.

How online sessions work from the UK
- Message me on WhatsApp (+977 9851347591) and tell him you are in the UK and which city.
- He will offer a time that suits you, and send payment details. You can pay by card from the UK, or a family member can pay in Nepal.
- You get a Google Meet link. Join from a quiet, private place. A phone with earphones is enough.
- Your first session is a full assessment. We agree a plan together, in Nepali or English.
Common questions
Can a Nepali in the UK see a psychiatrist online in Nepali?
Yes. I see Nepalis in the UK online by Google Meet, in Nepali or English, at times that suit your time zone.
Will my university, employer or visa be affected?
What you share stays private. I do not contact your university, employer or immigration unless you ask me to in writing, or someone’s life is in danger.
Can my parents in Nepal join or pay?
Yes, if you agree. Parents can join a session, or pay in Nepal by Fonepay, eSewa or Khalti.
Emergency and helpline numbers were checked in September 2026. Services change, so please confirm locally. See also: care for Nepalis in other countries.
