What happens in sessions
The first session is an assessment. Dr. Yujal meets you together, and sometimes each person alone for part of the time, to understand what is happening and what each of you wants to change. Then you agree a plan.
Sessions focus on how you talk to each other: listening without defending, saying what you need without blame, and solving problems together. Between sessions you practise at home. Each person rates every session, so it stays fair and useful for both of you.
Online sessions when you live apart
Many Nepali couples and families live in different countries. Sessions can be by Google Meet, with each person joining from where they are, at a time that works across your time zones. See online consultation.
When couples therapy is not the first step
If there is violence, threats or fear in the relationship, joint sessions can make things less safe. In that case it is better to start with individual help. You can message privately to talk about safe options. If you are in danger now, call 100 (Nepal Police) or your local emergency number.
Common questions
Do both of us have to come?
It helps, but you can start alone. Changing your own part of a pattern often changes the relationship too.
Is it confidential?
Yes. At the start you agree together how private information will be handled, so everyone knows what to expect.
Can teenagers come with their parents?
Yes, from 13 years, with a parent or guardian.
Can we have sessions online if we live in different countries?
Yes. Each person can join the Google Meet call from where they are.
